Pulwama, Nov 03 (KINS): Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, K.K. Sidha, on Monday flagged off an educational tour and district-level sports meet for Children with Special Needs (CWSN) to the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Awantipora.
The programme was organised by the Education Department to encourage inclusion and provide children with opportunities to learn, interact and participate in sports.
Students from different educational zones of Pulwama took part in the programme, accompanied by special educators, resource persons and teachers.
At IUST, the students participated in various sports activities, including carrom, chess, cricket and running. They also visited the university’s central library and recreational parks.
University officials interacted with the students and highlighted the importance of providing equal opportunities and support to children with special needs.
The programme concluded with the distribution of medals, certificates and mementos among the participants.(KINS)
