Srinagar, Feb 26: Vijay Kumar, IPS Addl. Director General of Police Armed/L&O J&K, led a meeting today at Police Headquarters J&K Srinagar to assess the preparations for the 23rd All India Water Sports Championship 2023-24, which will be hosted by J&K Police at Dal Lake (Back Lawns) of SKICC Srinagar from March 2nd to March 8th, 2024.
During the session, attended by various high-ranking officers, including Vidhi Kumar Birdi-IPS IGP Kashmir, M. N. Tiwari-IPS IGP Armed/IR Jammu, and B.S. Tuti-IPS IGP Hqr PHQ J&K, the ADGP reviewed the arrangements and preparations made by different committees for the successful conduct of the event.
The championship is expected to witness the participation of 29 teams from different central and state Police organizations, comprising more than 500 athletes across the country, competing in Canoeing, Kayaking & Rowing over a span of 7 days.
Emphasizing the importance of seamless organization and safety protocols, the ADGP stressed on elaborate security, traffic management, transportation, accommodation, heating, and other necessary arrangements for the participating teams.
Kuldeep Handoo DySP Sports APHQ provided insights into the arrangements delegated to various committees/officers for the smooth execution of the event.
The comprehensive discussion covered all aspects of the extravaganza, with a focus on ensuring a well-coordinated and successful championship.
