Rajouri Police Seize Property Worth Rs 2.25 Crore from Drug Offenders in Under a Month

Srinagar, May 21: In a decisive move against drug-related offenses, the Jammu and Kashmir Police in Rajouri have attached properties worth Rs 2.25 crore belonging to individuals involved in narcotics activities, all within less than a month.
This aggressive crackdown includes the property of notorious drug peddler Mohd Shakoor, also known as Shakoora, from Dhani Dhar Rajouri. Shakoor is implicated in 10 FIRs across various police stations in Rajouri district under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Currently, he is in judicial custody related to Case FIR No. 44/2024 at PS Thanamandi, charged under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act.
Despite being detained under the Public Safety Act (PSA) in December 2022 and released in September 2023, Shakoor resumed his drug activities, leading to his recent re-arrest by Rajouri Police in another drug case at Thanamandi.
The police, accompanied by an Executive Magistrate, attached Shakoor’s residential property valued at around 50 lakhs under Sections 68(E) (F) of the NDPS Act, 1985. This action serves as a stern warning to drug dealers that their illicit activities will not go unpunished.
