Kulgam Police arrest 155 drug peddlers, Seize contraband worth 50 Lakh in 2024

Property valued at 15 Crore also seized; battle for a drug-free society to continue

Kulgam, Jan 01 (KINS): In a determined effort to combat the drug menace, Kulgam Police reported the arrest of 155 drug peddlers and the registration of 123 FIRs during 2024.
As per data available with news agency KINS, police seized narcotics worth approximately 50 lakh and confiscated 15 properties, including structures with a market value of 15 crore, linked to drug-related cases.
Additionally, 24 warrants were executed under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (PIT NDPS), reflecting intensified operations to disrupt the drug trade in the district.
“The battle against drugs will continue, and success lies in a collaborative, innovative, and comprehensive approach involving all stakeholders to create a drug-free and prosperous society,” a police official said.
Kulgam Police reaffirmed their commitment to the fight against drug abuse and urged public cooperation to eradicate this growing menace.(KINS)
