Mughal road to reopen for traffic from April 10

Srinagar, Mar 24 (KINS): Authorities have said that the historic Mughal Road, connecting Poonch and Rajouri districts to Srinagar, will reopen for vehicular movement on April 10.

District Development Commissioner (DDC) Poonch, Vikas Kundal, stated that a trial run for one-way traffic is scheduled for April 9, provided weather conditions remain favorable.

“The weather department has predicted snowfall on March 29. If there is no significant snowfall and skies remain clear, clearance operations will commence on March 30 to facilitate the trial run,” Kundal said.

The Mughal Road was closed in January due to heavy snowfall, disrupting connectivity between the Jammu region and Kashmir Valley.(KINS)
