Govt orders major administrative reshuffle, transfers 108 officers in J&K

Srinagar, Oct 09 (KINS): The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Thursday ordered a major administrative reshuffle, transferring and posting 108 officers across various departments and key positions in the Union Territory.

According to the order, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri, awaiting adjustment in the General Administration Department (GAD), has been posted as Vice-Chairman, Lakes Conservation and Management Authority (LCMA), and will also hold the additional charge of Chief Executive Officer, WUCMA. Aijaz Abdullah Saraf, CEO/Secretary, J&K Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, has been transferred and posted as Member, J&K Special Tribunal.

Munir-ul-Islam, Secretary in the Information Department, will additionally hold the charge of CEO/Secretary, Workers Welfare Board. Mathora Masoom, Managing Director, J&K Financial Corporation, has been posted as Director, Floriculture, Kashmir. Rajesh Kumar Shavan, awaiting adjustment, has been appointed Special Secretary, Tribal Affairs Department, while Musheer Ahmed, Mission Director, ICDS J&K, has been posted as Special Secretary, Transport Department.

Rakesh Kumar Srangal, Managing Director, J&K Road Transport Corporation, has been shifted as Special Secretary, Finance Department, whereas Abdul Rashid War, awaiting adjustment, will now serve as Managing Director, J&K Road Transport Corporation.

Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar, Vice-Chairman, LCMA, and holding additional charge of CEO, WUCMA, has been posted as Director, Hospitality and Protocol. Ravi Shankar Sharma, Special Secretary in the Agriculture Production Department, has been transferred to the Department of Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction as Special Secretary.

Manisha Sarin, Director, Urban Local Bodies (ULB), Jammu, has been posted as Special Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, while Purnima Mittal, Special Secretary, Cooperatives Department, will now serve as Managing Director, J&K Women’s Development Corporation.

Haris Ahmad Handoo, Special Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, will hold additional charge as Director, SKICC and Secretary, Royal Springs Golf Course. Ashwani Khajuria, Director, Hospitality & Protocol, has been transferred and will await further posting orders in the GAD.

Kapil Sharma, Managing Director, J&K Medical Supplies Corporation, has been posted as Director, ULB Jammu. Tariq Hussain Ganai, Director General, Estates, Kashmir, with additional charge of Estates Jammu, will now also hold the charge of Managing Director, Medical Supplies Corporation.

Several other senior officers, including Rakesh Kumar, Rajinder Singh, Ulfat Jabeen, Anju Gupta, Naseer Ahmad Wani, and Malikzada Sheraz ul Haq, have been assigned significant roles in departments such as Agriculture, Revenue, Housing and Urban Development, and School Education.

Further, the order includes transfers of officers in various grades—ranging from Additional Secretaries to Deputy Commissioners and Project Officers—across departments like Social Welfare, Tourism, Panchayati Raj, Handicrafts, Information, and State Taxes.

Notably, Veveik Puri has been posted as CEO, Tourism Development Authority, Surinsar-Mansar; Tabassum Shafat Kamili as Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Kashmir; Zahoot Ahmad Raina as Joint Director, Information (Hqr); and Tazayun Mukhtar as CEO, Urban Development Agency, Kashmir while holding additional charge as Mission Director, DJAY.

The reshuffle also involves key district-level adjustments. Peerzada Farhat Ahmad has been posted as Assistant Commissioner (General), Srinagar; Muzaffar Ahmad Sheikh as Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, Shopian; Tariq Ahmad Reshi as Project Officer, Wage Employment (ACD), Srinagar; and Showkat Ahmad Bhat as Sub-Registrar, Pahalgam with additional charge of Anantnag.

Meanwhile, several private secretaries and junior officers, including Ghulam Rasool Mir, Mohd. Rafiq Zuilah, Sajid Rashid Bhat, and Arshada Akhter, have also been moved to new assignments in Panchayat and developmental roles.

The government said the reshuffle was aimed at improving administrative efficiency and ensuring better public service delivery across departments. —(KINS)
