Crackdown on drug trafficking: Police attach property of notorious drug peddler in Anantnag

Anantnag, Jan 16 (KINS): In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, police in Anantnag have attached the property of a notorious drug peddler involved in multiple narcotics cases.
Police Station Bijbehara attached a TATA Safari vehicle bearing registration number JK03C-9999, owned by Bashir Ahmad Dar, son of Habibullah Dar, a resident of Gadhanjipora, Bijbehara. The accused is a habitual offender and has been repeatedly involved in drug trafficking activities.
He was recently arrested in connection with FIR No. 241/2025 under Sections 8/21 of the NDPS Act, registered at Police Station Bijbehara.
The attachment of the property forms part of the sustained drive by J&K Police to dismantle drug networks and target the financial assets of offenders. Such actions aim to send a strong message that those involved in drug peddling will face stringent legal action, including the seizure of illegally acquired assets.
J&K Police reiterated its commitment to eradicating the menace of drugs from society and urged citizens to cooperate by reporting any drug-related activities in their localities. Together, a safer and drug-free community can be built.(KINS)
