MP Chowdhary Mohammad Ramzan invites INDIA Bloc leaders to August 5 protest seeking restoration of J&K Statehood

Srinagar, Aug 03 (KINS): Member of Parliament Chowdhary Mohammad Ramzan attended a meeting of INDIA Bloc leaders held in the chamber of Congress President and Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, in New Delhi.
Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, was also present at the meeting, where leaders discussed key parliamentary and national issues and deliberated on the INDIA Bloc’s joint strategy for the ongoing Parliament session.
During the meeting, MP Chowdhary Mohammad Ramzan as per statement extended an invitation to INDIA Bloc leaders to participate in a peaceful protest at Makar Dwar on August 5 against the Central Government’s decisions concerning Jammu and Kashmir. He urged alliance partners to stand in solidarity with the people of the Union Territory and support the demand for the restoration of full statehood.
Ramzan reminded the leaders that the Government of India had repeatedly assured Parliament that statehood would be restored to Jammu and Kashmir, but the promise remains unfulfilled.
Leaders of the INDIA Bloc, including the Congress, Samajwadi Party, DMK, TMC, CPI, AAP and other constituent parties, expressed solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir. They appreciated the concerns raised by Ramzan and conveyed their willingness to participate in the peaceful protest outside Parliament on August 5. The leaders also reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding constitutional values, protecting democratic rights, and supporting the demand for the restoration of full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.(KINS)
