Doda, Oct 17 (KINS): The Indian Army conducted the first day of a two-day mega medical camp at Government Higher Secondary School, Basantgarh, in Doda district under Operation Sadbhavana, providing free healthcare services to residents of remote and underserved areas.
The camp witnessed an encouraging response, with around 600 patients registering for medical assistance.
A team of medical professionals provided consultations and screening services in general medicine, eye care, dental health, cardiac health, respiratory care and ENT. Special attention was given to elderly people, women and children.
Free medicines were distributed, while assistive devices, including wheelchairs, crutches, walkers and hearing aids, were provided to beneficiaries according to their medical needs.
The camp also focused on the early identification of health concerns, preventive healthcare awareness and guidance on further treatment.
The initiative brought essential medical services closer to remote communities, helping residents avoid the difficulties of travelling long distances for healthcare. Local residents appreciated the Army’s efforts to improve healthcare access and support community welfare.
The two-day camp will continue on October 18, extending medical services to more residents of Basantgarh and adjoining villages.(KINS)
