Normalcy claims by HM contradicts ground situation of JK, says Fayaz Mir

‘No Muslim will seek Indian Citizenship as they knew what happened to JK Muslims’

Srinagar Dec 11:RajyaSabha Member Fayaz Ahmad Mir on Wednesday termed the claims of normalcy by Home Minister Amit Shah as lie and far from reality. He said no Muslim from neighboring countries will seek Indian Citizenship as they knew the fate of Muslims of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to news agency, Member RajyaSabhaFayaz Mir while replying in a discussion in LokSabha over Citizenship (Amendment) Bill lashed out at BJP government and said the claims of normalcy by Union Home Minister Amit Shah is based on lies and far from reality. “Home Minister yesterday on the same floor stated that situation in J&K is normal. If this is fact then I am congratulating him. But virtually this is not true”, Mir said.

He added after abrogation of Article 370 by BJP government on August 5, those mainstream politicians who sacrificed lot for the country and its integrity, have been punished. “In J&K scores of mainstream political leaders including three former Chief Ministers are currently behind bars. What was their crime?” he questioned.

Mir while speaking flamboyantly in LokSabha said, “There are many MLA’s including IshfaqJabbar and Zahoor Mir whose family members had been shot dead by militants but today instead of admitting their faithfulness, they have been detained and confined into four walls”.

He said no Muslim from any neighboring country will seek Indian Citizenship as they knew the fate of Muslims of Jammu and Kashmir. “Muslims residing in neighboring countries including Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh don’t seek the Indian Citizenship as they knew the fate of Muslims living across Jammu and Kashmir”, he added.
