Police books 19 persons including 12 shopkeepers for defying Govt orders in Srinagar and Ganderbal; Also seizes 12 vehicles

May 12: Acting tough against the violators of Government prohibitory orders, Police in a series of actions have arrested 19 persons including 12 shopkeepers in Srinagar and Ganderbal. Police have also seized 12 vehicles for defying Govt orders over COVID-19.

In Srinagar, Police have arrested 12 shopkeepers from Jehlum Market Batamaloo for defying government orders. Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at PS Shaheed Gunj and further investigation into the cases has been initiated.

Similarly in Ganderbal, Police have arrested 7 drivers and seized 12 vehicles loaded with the construction material from Duderhama and Wahidpora areas of Ganderbal. Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered and further investigation into the cases has been initiated.

Police have once again requested the general public to follow the restrictions imposed by Government in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and those who are violating the restriction orders will be dealt strictly.
