Apni Party District Youth President appeals VC KU to reconsider the examination charges

SRINAGAR, 31 May: Apni Party District Youth President Srinagar, Mohsin Zaffar Shah, appealed to Vice-Chancellor, Kashmir University to reconsider the examination charges keeping in view the Covid-19 pandemic.

In a statement issued, Shah said that the students of the Law department are unable to pay the increased examination fees, as the prevalent situation has hit everyone’s income.

“Education has become inaccessible in these tough times. Students are the torchbearers of a holistic path to a society’s better future. It is the duty of authorities to facilitate students facing hardships”, he said.

He went on to say that private institutions should offer significant concessions on monthly/semester fees.

Shah stated that the online examination incurs only the internet charges, which are negligible when related to operational costs of stationery and venue.

He remarked that Kashmir University has produced intellectual genii, but the gradual increase in charges will have an adverse impact on the students’ mental health and overall wellbeing.

Shah thanked the faculties of private schools and colleges for delaying the acceptance of fees in various cases where students lacked sufficient means.

He acknowledged that private schools and colleges were keenly attuned to the situation and meticulously managed the staff remuneration.

Shah further appealed to private schools and colleges to review the examination charges as the expense of online teaching is minimal compared to the physical classes.
