Taking away JK Bank’s autonomy is centre’s design: Farooq

SRINAGAR, Dec 5: National Conference president Farooq Abdullah Wednesday claimed that it was the design of the Centre to take away the autonomy of JK Bank.
“There was a design a long ago when I was chief minister of the state that bank was not working well. I remember then in the office of union home minister LK Advani, myself, and deputy chairman of Planning Commission of India when I was told that bank is not doing good and it should be taken over, which I refused.. Now they tried this during Governor rule.. It is a tragedy if they do it,” he said in his address on the 36th annual day of SK Institute of Medical Sciences Soura at SKICC.
However the Governor’s yesterday statement is good news.
He said that secular character of India is at the stake due to polarization in the name of religion.
“India is going through a major change. We are worried the way tragedies are created. It is not Ram and Allah that will give votes to politicians. It is people to decide whom to give the vote. People have to rise and decide their future,” he said.
