Ganderbal, June 11 (KINS): An Army soldier died another injured when a vehicle of Army convoy skidded off the road on Srinagar-Leh near Ranga Mode Zojila Pass and fell into a deep gorge on Thursday,officials said.
Reports reaching news agency KINS said, the accident occurred near Ranga Mode Zojila Pass after the driver lost control over his speed vehicle and fell into the 200-ft deep gorge at Zojila pass.
Soon after receiving the information, police,locals rushed to the spot and started rescue operation.
A police officer confirming this road mishap to news agency KINS said one soldier died on spot while another was critically injured in the mishap. The officer identified deceased as Karan Singh. He said a case has been registered and further investigation initiated.(KINS)
