DC G’bal reviews progress on developmental projects

GANDERBAL, JUNE 16: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal today reviewed developmental scenario and progress on mega developmental projects in the district.

The DC sought details of ongoing projects of PHE, PWD, PDD, Health, PMGSY, Forest, Agriculture and Horticulture sectors besides District Capex budget achievements.

The meeting also reviewed the status of various languishing ongoing projects which include construction of Dak Banglow at Fatehpora, construction of motorable bridge over Nallah Sindh at Bamloora, Yechama Kangan Bridge, Akhal Kangan Bridge besides polytechnic College at Hatbura, construction of DIET building at Nunnar and construction of Degree College at Kangan etc.

Taking stock of languishing projects, the DC stressed the district heads, executing agencies and departments to complete all the languishing projects in set time frame with special emphasis on quality of work.

The meeting discussed the macadamisation of roads in the district and DC exhorted upon the executive engineers of PMGSY and R&B to start the process at an earliest prioritizing the vital roads of the district.

To achieve the targets, directions were passed to the executing agencies to go for new techniques, innovative works and for inclusion of new activities and capacity building of the people to enhance the sources of livelihood generation and to meet the purpose of the respective departments.

The meeting also reviewed physical progress of PMGSY roads besides works taken under Back to Village program, the DC laid stress on timely completion of the projects besides ensuring all SOPs related to COVID-19 are followed at all working places.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Farooq Ahmad Baba, Chief Planning Officer, ACR, SDM Kangan, Executive Engineers of PHE, PMGSY, I&FC and R&B, CMO, CEO besides other district and sectorial officers.
