Police Memorial Sports Festival organised in Pulwama, Kupwara, Handwara, Awantipora and Baramulla


Srinagar, October 21 (KINS): In the memory of Police “Martyrs”, Police in Pulwama, Kupwara, Handwara, Awantipora, and Baramulla organised Police Martyrs Memorial Sports Festivals at respective District Police Lines.
Police in a statement issued to news agency KINS said that in Pulwama, Police Martyrs Memorial Cricket Tournament was organized by Pulwama Police under Civic Action programme. Inaugural match was played between Shining star Achan V/S District Police Pulwama.
In Kupwara, the event was inaugurated by ASP Kupwara Ifroz Ahmad-JKPS. Various sports teams from different areas of Kupwara participated in the inaugural sports festival event. The sports festival will continue till 30th October.
ASP Kupwara along with other police officers interacted with players and assured them for providing all kind of support to boost sports activities and channelize the talent of youth of the area.
In Handwara, the event was inaugurated by ASP Handwara  Mashkoor Ahmad-JKPS, besides other police officers and officials were also present on the occasion. The sports festival will continue till 30th October and include games like Cricket, Volleyball, Carrom etc.
ASP Handwara speaking on the occasion said that the tournament has been organized by Handwara Police in the memory of brave Jawans and officers of the force, who laid down their lives for the security, sovereignty and integrity of the Nation.
In Awantipora, the event was inaugurated by SSP Awantipora Tahir Saleem-JKPS. Various sports teams from different areas of Police District Awantipora participated in the inaugural sports festival event. The sports festival will continue till 30th October and include games like Cricket, Football, Volleyball as well as cultural program & Run for Unity event.
SSP Awantipora along with other police officers interacted with players and assured them that police is committed to provide all kind of support to boost sports activities and channelize the talent of youth of the area.
Meanwhile, Police Martyrs Memorial Football Tournament was also organized in Baramulla.
The sports festival has been organised by Police to pay tribute to the brave jawans and officers who laid down their lives in the line of duty.(KINS)
