DC B’la inspects COVID-19 Wellness Centers, took stock of Mitigation Measures
Also chairs meeting at GMC; Reviews progress of COVID-19 vaccination campaign

Baramulla April 21 (KINS): Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Bhupinder Kumar accompanied by concerned officers today inspected COVID-19 Wellness centres established at Indoor Sports Stadium Baramulla and Sub-district Hospital Sopore where he took stock of necessary COVID-19 mitigation measures undertaken by the authorities in this regard.
On the occasion, DC took a detailed appraisal of various related aspects during which he emphasized to ensure that all the requisite advisories are followed in letter and spirit. He also took stock of the availability of oxygen supply in these centres and directed the concerned health authorities to take all the necessary measures for better treatment of the patients. The DC also interacted with the patients and enquired about various facilities being provided to them wherein they appraised their issues and demands.
Meanwhile, Bhupinder Kumar urged upon the people to follow all the requisite SOPs and guidelines pertaining to prevention of COVID-19 as a surge in positive cases have been reported from past few days. He added that the virus has still not been completely eradicated and there is a need to strengthen surveillance mechanism in containment/isolation zones. The DC also warned that strict legal action shall be taken against those violating guidelines and SOPs.
Later, the DC chaired a meeting with concerned officers at GMC Baramulla in order to take stock of the progress of COVID-19 vaccination programme. The meeting also discussed various measures and modalities for effectively and smoothly implementing the vaccination programme in the district.
During the meeting, a comprehensive discussion on the subject was held during which the DC emphasized for exploring means and measures for carrying out the campaign successfully. He stressed upon the officers to work with utmost zeal and dedication for disseminating awareness about the importance of COVID-19 vaccine. He also directed to launch a vibrant sensitization campaign at block and at other levels and underlined the need of utilizing the services of PRIs in this regard. (KINS)
