GRS, Rajesh visits door to door to disseminate life-saving messages on COVID-19

KISHTWAR, JULY 01(KINS):  Rajesh Kumar GRS,  Mulchitter has taken over a challenging task of motivating the people to adopt covid appropriate behavior. He dedicated all hours for the welfare of the society amid the Coronavirus pandemic outbreak and set a shining example for others.

Rajesh Kumar is working as GRS in Rural Development Department Kishtwar from 2016 and is presently posted in Panchayat Mulchitter of Block Mughalmaidan.

He got the chance to serve the people during the second wave of Coronavirus, when Mulchitter Panchayat of Block Mughalmaidan was notified as a containment zone due to the spike in cases.

“I was assigned the task of educating the people about the COVID-19 appropriate behavior besides to serve the needy persons with food and other necessary articles within the containment zone” he said.

Rajesh said that he took the assigned work as a God send opportunity to serve the humanity. ”I dedicated myself fully and started Public awareness campaign by visiting door to door for disseminating life-saving messages on COVID-19 to hundreds of villagers”. he added

“During the campaign, I learnt that we have to take the danger of the coronavirus seriously and take all possible measures to combat this deadly contagious disease. Wearing face masks, vaccination and adhering to COVID-19 appropriate behavior turned out to be best protection tools,” he maintained.

“It’s not always easy to convince people”, he added. “When we advise them to stay indoors, they would reply who will work in fields. So making them realise the gravity of the situation was the first difficult task.”

He said door to door awareness campaigns   helped dispel misinformation and rumours about the coronavirus and convince the public to take precautionary measures like maintaining hand hygiene, wear masks in public places, avoid meeting people with cold and coughs, observe physical distance, avoid crowded places, and stay home as much as possible.

“I didn’t stop to only spreading awareness among the common masses but I felt it my responsibility to visit door to door with vegetables and other necessary articles in Muchitter Panchayat and It feels great when people recognize your added efforts”.

“Now we are doing our best to ensure vaccination of people by taking the vaccination teams to the door steps of the people,” Rajesh said and added “Second wave of covid pandemic has receded, we are now at the task of vaccination. But I am also ready to work with the same spirit if the third wave comes. I was and will always be at the forefront.” (KINS)
