Reasi to use 30% DMF funds for Covid-19 care

 

REASI, JULY 06(KINS): Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Charandeep Singh today approved the use of 30% of District Mineral Foundation (DMF) funds for augmenting healthcare facilities, testing and screening requirements related to covid-19.

The decision to use DMF funds was taken at a meeting attended by DFO, Reasi Jyotsansa, ACD Anirudh Rai, CMO Dr. Rajeev Sharma, CAO Sudhir Singh Chib, DMO Rakesh Kumar, Executive Engineer PWD, Janak Raj besides others.

The DMO appraised the chair that as per directions of the Ministry of mines, 30 percent of DMF funds that currently stands at Rs 19.43 lakh has to be utilized for augmentation of medical requirements for preventing the spread of COVID 19 pandemic.

After threadbare discussions, it was decided that Rs. 4.40 lakh will be utilized for lifting of Covid -19 biomedical waste, Rs. 7.40 lakh for repair of handpumps near Covid Care Centres, Rs. 1.18 lakh for installation of a  new handpump at a quarantine centre in Talwara to ensure proper supply of water and  Rs 5  lakh for construction of a  foot bridge at Panchayat Bhabber Brahmana for ensuring better connectivity to locals.

“As the COVID-19 situation keeps evolving, proper mechanisms of utilisation of relief funds to tackle the health crisis will be critical. Funds approved today can be utilised to scale up healthcare intervention across the district, particularly at the local level around Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) and community health centres (CHCs),” the DC Said.
