No traffic on Srinagar-Jammu highway on Wednesday

Srinagar, Aug 3 (KINS) No traffic will be allowed on Srinagar-Jammu national highway on Wednesday in view of weekly maintenance of the road.

Traffic will however, ply as per schedule on other roads, including Srinagar-Leh highway and historic Mughal road on Wednesday, a traffic police official told UNI Tuesday afternoon.

He said no vehicle will be allowed to ply from Srinagar or Jammu tomorrow to allow National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) to undertake weekly maintenance of the road.

Due to frequent closure of the highway due to landslides and shooting stones during winter month, the Union Territory (UT) administration decided to suspend traffic on every Wednesday to allow NHAI to undertake repair and maintenance work.
