Dr Sehrish visits Eidgah’s, other Khanqahs in B’la; Reviews arrangements


BARAMULLA, JULY 08: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar, today visited several Eidgahs, Khanqahs and Ziyarat Janbaz Wali (RA) in Baramulla to review arrangements put in place for the visiting devotees there on the eve of Eid ul Adha.
The DC exhorted upon the concerned departments to ensure all their respective tasks are accomplished with the highest degree of responsibility so that devotees visiting the Eidgahs, Khanqahs do not face any hardship on this account.
She interacted with Auqaf members at the Ziyarat Janbaz wali (RA) and enquired from them about the arrangements that have been put in place for convenience of the devotees.
During her visit to eidgahs, DC directed for upgradation of facilities there saying that all services should be put in place for convenience of devotees thronging the Eidgahs during Eid ul Adha.
Maintaining that collective approach is the way forward for better upkeep of Khanqhas, DC directed the officers to take feedback from Auqaf and locals regarding upgradation of facilities. She asked the MC to ensure proper maintenance of cleanliness around the Eidgahs and Khanqahs.
On the occasion, DC took stock of issues faced by the devotees assuring them an appropriate action on the same for speedy redressal.
The DC was accompanied by President Municipal Council Baramulla Tauseef Raina Executive Officer Municipal Council Baramulla, officer and Engineers from Jal Shakhti Department, JKPDCL, R&B and others.
At sub divisional level Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore and Sub Divisional Magistrates of Pattan Gulmarg, Uri also visited various eidgahs and Khanqahs to review arrangements being put in place for the visiting devotees there on the eve of Eid ul Adha.
