DG Prisons hoists National Flag at Central Jail Srinagar


SRINAGAR, AUGUST 15: Director General of Prisons J&K, H K Lohia hoisted the National Flag at Central Jail Srinagar and extended his greetings and good wishes to the staff and inmates.
While addressing the staff and inmates, he emphasized on the importance of cultivating core national values and exhorted them to contribute collectively for peace and harmony.
He also congratulated the recipients of the President’s Correctional Service Medal, 2022.
On the occasion, a cultural programme was also presented by the inmates during which they performed on various patriotic & folk songs.
Also 76th Independence Day was being celebrated with fervour in all the jails of J&K wherein Superintendents hoisted the National Flag in the jails and sweets were distributed among the inmates and staff.
Earlier, Prisons Department launched ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign in jails and activities like cultural programs (Desh Bakhti songs, dance, rangoli, wall art, drama, etc.),Yoga and meditation sessions, plantation drives etc, were also conducted in jails of J&K as a part of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations.
