Srinagar, Feb 13: In a move to support the families of martyred and deceased Police personnel/SPOs, the Director General of Police, J&K, R. R Swain, has approved a total of rupees 03.14 crore for 17 families. Additionally, financial assistance of four lakh twenty-five thousand has been sanctioned for five SPOs whose residential houses were damaged in various accidents or natural calamities.
Under the directives of PHQ, the DGP has sanctioned special welfare relief of rupees 22 lakh each for the Next of Kin (NoK) of martyr Inspector Masroor Ali Wani and deceased ASI Govind Singh, HC Bashir Ahmad, HC Mohammad Jabbar, HC Bashir Ahmad, HC Narinder Sharma, SgCt Aqib Hussain, SgCt Ravi Kumar, SgCt Anoop Kumar, SgCt Ajay Kumar, SgCt Bashir Ahmad, Ct Raju Sharma, Ct Muhammed Iqbal, and Ct Karamjeet Singh. Additionally, rupees 10 lakh has been sanctioned for the NoK of deceased R/Ct Rohit Sharma.
Furthermore, rupees six lakh each has been approved for the NoK of SPO Javed Ahmad, SPO Mehraj-ud-din Lone, and SPO Mohammad Khalid who passed away during their service with the J&K Police organization.
A portion of the sanctioned relief, including rupees one lakh each for NoK of deceased police personnel and rupees fifty thousand each for NoK of deceased SPOs, has already been disbursed for their last rites.
In another directive, the DGP has sanctioned financial assistance of rupees one lakh each for SPOs Nazir Ahmad, Irshad Ahmad, and Man Singh. Additionally, rupees seventy-five thousand and rupees fifty thousand have been sanctioned for SPOs Shiraz Ahmad and Suresh Kumar, respectively, whose residential houses were damaged in different accidents or natural calamities.
These initiatives underscore Police Headquarters’ commitment to enhancing support and assistance for the welfare of its personnel and their families.
