Empowering Children Through Quality Education: A Priority for J&K Police & PWWA, says R.R. Swain
Srinagar, June 01: In a landmark move for technological advancement in education, the Director General of Police (DGP), Jammu and Kashmir, inaugurated 5G-enabled i5 interactive panels for Smart Classes at the Jammu Police Public School (PPS), Miran Sahib. The event was attended by key dignitaries including Prof. Rasmita Das Swain, Chairperson of the Management Committee, J&K PPSs/PWWA, M.N. Tiwari, IGP Armed/IRP Jammu Zone, and the school’s Principal, Rajeev Sharma.
This initiative, spearheaded by M.N. Tiwari, aims to significantly enhance the learning experience for both students and teachers. The DGP emphasized the commitment of the J&K Police Department to providing quality education, particularly for the children of police personnel who face unique challenges due to their parents’ demanding jobs.
“My vision is to establish a network of schools across districts and sub-divisions, creating safe and nurturing environments for children to excel academically and personally,” said the DGP. He highlighted the institution’s core values, focusing on education, safety from drugs and abuse, and promoting dignity, equality, and life values. The DGP stressed the importance of making education accessible to all, regardless of economic or social background.
The DGP acknowledged the educational interests of police personnel’s children, noting the challenges they face due to their parents’ work. He committed to expanding the network of schools to every district and sub-division, and even to the tehsil Police level, ensuring access to quality education.
“We are dedicated to empowering children through education, helping them achieve their full potential,” he added. The department plans to provide competent teachers and a comprehensive curriculum focused on both academic and non-academic development in a supportive environment.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police Department is actively seeking government land to expand its school network, striving to provide quality education to children from all backgrounds. The PPS aims to transform its students into exemplary individuals.
The DGP lauded the efforts of the JKPPS administration, staff, and PWWA members. During the event, he felicitated 12 teachers for their exceptional performance in the 2023-24 session and honored 12 top students from classes 9 to 12.
Prof. Rasmita Das Swain congratulated the school’s administration and highlighted the impact of the new Smart Class Panels on making learning more engaging and effective. She praised the dedication of the Principal and urged teachers to continually innovate in their teaching methods. She also emphasized the crucial role of parents, especially those of martyrs, in the success of the educational system.
IGP Armed/IRP Jammu, M.N. Tiwari, expressed gratitude to the DGP, PWWA Chairperson, senior officers, and parents for their support. He assured that the new Smart Panels would be optimally used to enhance the quality of education. He also thanked the DGP and PWWA Chairperson for addressing salary anomalies of the teachers and congratulated the students for their excellent performance in the CBSE Board Exams.
Principal PPS, Rajeev Sharma, in his welcome address, expressed gratitude for the DGP’s visit, emphasizing its significance in recognizing the value of education and youth empowerment. He praised the efforts of J&K Police in providing free education to the wards of martyrs and affordable education to the children of police personnel and low-income civilian families.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Shri Suram Singh, CO JKAP 8th Battalion and Nodal Officer, J&K PPS Jammu. The function was graced by several prominent PWWA members and senior police officers.
