Srinagar, June: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha stated that ‘Awaam Ki Awaaz’, the platform for public voices, has completed three years today. In his ‘Awaam Ki Awaaz’ program, he highlighted that valuable suggestions from citizens have significantly contributed to policy-making across diverse sectors. The initiative has also strengthened Jan Bhagidari at the grassroots level, encouraging active public participation in the nation-building process.
The initiative, which has been instrumental in enhancing grassroots participation, has become a cornerstone of policy-making and community involvement in the region. Lt. Governor Sinha emphasized the crucial role that citizen feedback has played in shaping diverse sectors. “Valuable suggestions from citizens have helped in policy-making in diverse sectors. It has also strengthened Jan Bhagidari at the grassroots level and encouraged people to actively participate in the nation-building process,” Sinha stated.
This engagement platform has significantly bolstered the culture of active involvement among the populace, fostering a collaborative environment for regional development.
While highlighting the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, Lt. Governor Sinha called on citizens to extend a warm welcome to the pilgrims. “The annual pilgrimage to the sacred shrine is set to begin on June 29. I urge the enlightened citizens to join together in welcoming the pilgrims,” Sinha said, underscoring the importance of community support and hospitality.
With the International Yoga Day around the corner, set for June 21, Sinha acknowledged the efforts of individuals like Jammu’s Tarun Sharma and Sunaina Abrol, along with Kashmir’s Shabbir Ahmed Dar, in popularizing yoga and transforming it into a mass movement. “Yoga is a holistic approach towards health, happiness, and well-being. The discipline emphasizes a fine balance between mind and body,” he noted, encouraging widespread participation in the celebrations.
During the address, LG stated that Anantnag’s Tabasum Zehra shared valuable suggestions on enhancing girl child education, reflecting the programme’s inclusive and participatory nature. Sinha also urged the public to remain vigilant and support security agencies. “I urge the public to remain united and share information with our police and security agencies to completely dismantle the terror ecosystem,” he stated, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to regional security.
Paying homage to the civilians martyred in the recent terror attack in Reasi, Lt. Governor Sinha expressed his condolences and reiterated the government’s resolve to combat terrorism. He also lauded the record voter turnout in the recent parliamentary elections, describing it as a testament to the people’s unwavering faith in democracy and the constitution.
