Kashur Funkar Season-2: A Grand Celebration of Culture, Sports, and Unity in the Kashmir Valley

Srinagar, Oct 18 (KINS): The much-anticipated Kashur Funkar Season-2, also known as Kashmiruk Fankar 2024, was held at Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium, Bandipora, on 16th and 17th October 2024.
Organized by the Bandipora Battalion under Operation Sadhbhavana, in collaboration with the Indian Army and Ali Sports Academy, this landmark event showcased the vibrant cultural, sporting, and environmental spirit of Kashmir.
The two-day festival kicked off with an energetic celebration of sports, where volleyball and rugby matches ignited excitement among spectators. The active participation of local youth displayed their immense talent and marked a significant shift in the valley’s sports scene, offering promising opportunities for higher recognition and growth.
The second day was dedicated to the region’s rich cultural and musical heritage. Folk artists and schoolchildren took center stage, delivering enthralling performances that celebrated Kashmir’s traditional music. This cultural extravaganza served not only as a source of entertainment but also as an effort to preserve and promote the valley’s artistic legacy. The festival attracted locals and tourists alike, enhancing Kashmir’s image as a cultural hub.
With over 4,000 attendees, the grand finale was a fitting conclusion to the event. Dignitaries including the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Kilo Force, the Deputy Commissioner, and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Bandipora graced the occasion, underscoring the event’s importance in fostering peace, trust, and unity within the region. Kashur Funkar Season-2 was more than just a celebration—it was a powerful step towards sustainable development, peace, and community growth in the Kashmir valley.(KINS)
