Srinagar, Oct 23 (KINS): In a crucial meeting with officials from the Industries and Commerce Department, Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister emphasized the immediate need to create jobs for local youth and foster industrial development in the Union Territory.
Surinder Kumar Choudhary, who is also the Industries Minister, stated that industries must create job opportunities for the people of Jammu & Kashmir.
“I want the people of Jammu & Kashmir to benefit from these industries. Job creation should be our main focus,” he said as per news agency KINS, instructing officials to prioritize local residents.
The Minister also questioned the development of industrial estates in the Peer Panjal Range.
“How many industrial estates are you developing? Just one or two? There hasn’t been any new industrial package, and I want to see real progress on the ground,” he stated, as per the sources.
Expressing anger with the slow pace of development, the Minister warned officials about surprise visits to check their progress.
“I will do surprise visits. You should be working, and there should be no corruption. We are here to serve the people. You are accountable to me, and I am accountable to them.”
Additionally, the Minister highlighted the importance of involving local people in industrial projects and ensuring they have access to land for their businesses.
“We must involve local people in these industries. I will discuss this with the Chief Minister. People should get land for their businesses.”
He concluded by urging all officials to deliver real results for the people of Jammu & Kashmir. “Provide me with clear data on how many factories have been set up. I want to see actual work happening.”(KINS)
