Fresh spell of rain and snow expected in J&K

Srinagar, Jan 31 (KINS): The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a fresh spell of rain and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir as two Western Disturbances (WDs) are set to impact the region on February 1 and February 3, continuing until February 5.
These weather systems are expected to bring snowfall to higher altitudes, which is crucial for replenishing glaciers and water sources that sustain Kashmir’s agriculture and hydropower sectors.
Authorities have advised travelers and residents, especially in hilly areas, to remain cautious of snow accumulation and slippery roads. As Kashmir transitions from Chillai Kalan to Chillai Khurd, this fresh spell of precipitation is likely to influence temperature patterns across the Valley.(KINS)
