Summer vacations for colleges extended till July 06: Sakina Itoo

Srinagar, July 2 (KINS): Education Minister Sakina Itoo on Wednesday announced an extension of summer vacations for colleges till Sunday.

The minister said the decision was taken considering the severe weather conditions. “With college vacations nearing an end, we have decided to extend them till Sunday (July 06) due to the persistent heatwave,” she said.

Itoo added that the government is keeping a close watch on weather developments before deciding on school reopenings. “We will review the situation for schools soon based on the latest weather forecast,” she said.

Summer vacations for colleges were initially set to end on July 4, while schools were scheduled to reopen on July 7.
