Ladakh LG Kavinder Gupta meets Union Minister Khattar, discusses key water, power and housing projects

Srinagar, Aug 19 (KINS): Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta, met Union Power and Housing & Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar in New Delhi to review major developmental projects of the UT.

The LG highlighted two landmark 24×7 water supply projects for Leh and Kargil worth over ₹707 crore, sanctioned under AMRUT 2.0 with Central assistance of ₹62 crore.

He also stressed the urgent need to tackle Ladakh’s depleting groundwater and sought support for housing under PMAY-U 2.0, renewable energy projects, and ongoing power initiatives.

Khattar appreciated the UT administration’s efforts and assured full central support, while LG Gupta reaffirmed commitment to the PM’s vision of a carbon-neutral, sustainable Ladakh.(KINS)
