Don’t teach lesson to House: BJP MLA Sham Lal Sharma to MY Tarigami

Srinagar, Oct 23 (KINS): BJP MLA Sham Lal Sharma on Thursday asked CPI(M) legislator M.Y. Tarigami not to “teach lessons” to members of the Legislative Assembly.
While paying tributes to late political leaders on the first day of J&K Legislative Assembly session, Tarigami referred to past events that led to the bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir. He also mentioned several incidents which, according to him, should be discussed in the Assembly. He said there has to be a scope of constructive criticism while paying tributes to late leaders.
At this point, BJP MLA Sham Lal Sharma stood up from his seat and objected.
“You are setting a wrong precedent. Instead of making an obituary reference, you are giving us a lesson. There is no such scope while we are paying tributes. You speak well, but this is not the appropriate forum. Instead of paying tributes, you are discussing history,” Sharma said, according to news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS).
