Jammu, Nov 04 (KINS): A drone was recovered from an open field in Sakhi Maidan village of the Mendhar sector in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Tuesday, officials said.
According to police sources, the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the local police recovered the drone, which was found around six kilometres from the Line of Control (LoC).
The SOG team was dispatched to the area after receiving information about the presence of a drone-like object lying in a field. Upon reaching the spot, the team confirmed the object to be a drone and seized it for examination, officials said.
Police have launched a detailed investigation to ascertain the origin of the drone and whether it had crossed over from across the border.
Officials said the recovery comes amid ongoing vigilance along the LoC to prevent any cross-border smuggling or surveillance activity using drones.(KINS)
