Srinagar, Dec 20 (KINS):The Chinar Corps of the Indian Army successfully organised “Kashmiruk Funkar – Season III” across Bandipora district from December 3 to 20, 2025.
The multi-faceted event was held at N.M. Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Kaloosa, and Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium, Bandipora, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and youth from the region.
“Kashmiruk Funkar – Season III” was structured around three key components — Sports Camps, Awareness Capsules and Competitions — aimed at holistic youth engagement. The sports camps focused on developing physical fitness and self-confidence through activities such as self-defence training, kickboxing, Pencak Silat, Mallakhamb and Ice Stock.
The awareness capsules featured interactive sessions on anti-drug awareness, hygiene and sanitation, Know Your Army, artificial intelligence and career counselling. Eminent guest speakers from diverse professional backgrounds interacted with the youth, motivating them to explore new opportunities and actively participate in nation-building initiatives.
The competitions segment provided a vibrant platform for showcasing local talent, with events including painting, singing, dancing, Kangdi making and performances on traditional musical instruments. These activities played a crucial role in preserving and promoting Kashmir’s rich artistic and cultural heritage by encouraging young participants to display their traditional skills and creativity before a wider audience.
In addition to the planned activities, special interactive zones were established to offer hands-on exposure in areas such as physical fitness, self-defence, technological awareness and traditional art forms. The overwhelming participation underscored the enthusiasm of students and highlighted the immense potential of the region’s youth.
While steadfast in its core responsibility of safeguarding the nation’s borders and maintaining peace in the Kashmir Valley, the Chinar Corps of the Indian Army continues to play a proactive role in educational empowerment, cultural preservation and skill development, reinforcing positivity and inspiring the younger generation towards constructive and meaningful nation-building.(KINS)
