NC’s Tanvir Sadiq vows to make J&K Assembly ‘People-centric,’ criticizes BJP’s ‘Shadow Cabinet’

KINS Desk

Srinagar, Mar 1 (KINS): National Conference (NC) chief spokesperson and Zadibal MLA Tanvir Sadiq on Friday assured that the government will make every possible effort to ensure that the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly remains “people-centric.” He emphasized that all matters raised in the House will be in the best interests of the people of the Union Territory.

Speaking to reporters in Srinagar as per news agency KINS, Sadiq criticized reports of the opposition BJP forming a ‘shadow cabinet,’ calling it a diversionary tactic. He urged the opposition to allow smooth functioning of the Assembly, which is set to convene on March 3.

“This session is an opportunity to fill the vacuum of the last ten years and address public grievances. Our focus is solely on the welfare of the people,” Sadiq stated.

Referring to the Chief Minister’s recent remarks, the NC leader underscored the importance of public participation in restoring peace in the region. “Without people’s involvement, peace cannot be achieved,” he said.

Dismissing BJP’s political maneuvering, Sadiq asserted that the real priority should be effective governance. “Let the BJP do whatever it wants. Our goal is to ensure that the Assembly functions smoothly and that the concerns of the people are heard. With 88 elected MLAs, the House must serve as a platform for addressing public issues. Anyone attempting to disrupt proceedings will be acting against the will of the people,” he added.(KINS)
