Selling meat on excessive rates, Police register FIR against Ganderbal butcher

Srinagar, May 22 : Police on Friday registered an FIR against a butcher for selling mutton at exorbitant rates in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.


According to Police statement issued to news agency KINS reads, Acting tough against the over pricing,Ganderbal Police lodged an FIR aganst a butcher for selling mutton at exorbitant rates. In this regard a Case FIR NO. 103/2020 U/S 3/7 EC Act at P/S Ganderbal stands registerd against a Butcher namely Reyaz Ahmad Rather of Saloora .the said butcher was selling mutton at the rate of Rs 600/ per kg.


The statement reads that SSP Ganderbal Khalil Ahmad Poswal has directed all the SHO’s of District Ganderbal to intensify the market checking particularly during these days so that the rates of essential commidites remain stable and general public is not cheated.


SSP Ganderbal also appealled the general public that any complaint regarding exorbitant rates by any dealer be brought into the notice of local police station so that action could be initiated.


He also urged to common people and the shop keepers to adhere the guidelines and safety standards by mantaing social distancing, using of masks and sanitizers the statement reads.
