UT admin committed to strengthen Panchayati Raj system: DDC Chairperson Doda  

DODA, JULY 17( KINS ): Taking a step forward towards ensuring effective functioning of the Panchayati Raj system in the district, the District Development Council Chairperson Doda, Dhananter Singh Kotwal along with Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Sharma today inaugurated a newly constructed Panchayat Ghar here at Dugli B Panchayat of block Bhalla.

 

The Panchayat Ghar has been constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 39.26 lakh having fully furnished rooms and other facilities to meet the requirements of the PRI members.

 

In his inaugural address, the DDC Chairman said that the UT administration, in coordination with District Administrations, is making every possible effort to strengthen the grassroots level democracy by creating necessary Infrastructure support for the PRIs.

 

The DC, while interacting with RDD officers/officials, directed them to complete all other pending Panchayat Ghars which are under construction on war footing basis.

 

Meanwhile, the PRI members and other locals raised various other developmental and Administrative issues and sought the intervention of the DDC chairman and DC for redressing the same. They were assured that all the necessary steps will be taken to solve the basic and genuine demands of the general public on priority basis.

 

Additional Development Commissioner,  DDC member Bhaderwah West, Yudhvir Singh; Bhaderwah, Rakesh Kumar; Assistant Commissioner Development,  Mohammad Idrees Lone; Ex En REW,  Aftab Ahamed; BDO Bhalla Phulail Singh; besides other officers/PRI members were also present. ( KINS )
