DAK demands impartial enquiry

Srinagar, Nov 24. Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) has condemned the suspension of Dr Suhail Maajid, Prof. Dept of Orthopaedics Sher I Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences Medical College (SKIMS MC).

Dr Suhail Naik, President DAK in a statement said, “Dr Saheel Maajid is a senior Professor Orthopaedics who has been instrumental in establishing the department of orthopaedics at SKIMS MC. Moreover he has well recognised contribution in performing complex spinal surgeries which is a feat not only in the dept. but in the valley.”

“Government on one hand shows dreams to the public of improving the health care system but is antithetical when it has to come into practice. Doctor Association Kashmir demands thorough enquiry into the case and our stand is clear from the beginning tgat no doctor should be suspended unless and until thorough and impartial enquiry is being conducted,” he said.

DAK has appealed the Governor J & K to take a holistic view in this issue and to revoke the suspension order at the earliest so that the patients and his students are not made to suffer.
