JKPM felicitates people on Urs of Baba Hyder Reshi

Anantnag, Jul 03 : Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement (JKPM) Vice President Syed Iqbal Tahir has felicitated people on the occasion of Urs of Baba Hyder Reshi (Resh Moul) of Anantnag.

In his felicitation message, Iqbal Tahir has said that Reshi Moul was a venerated saint of Kashmir. His shrine is an epitome of true Kashmiriyat which is visited by both Hindus and Muslims alike.

“A prolific religious scholar and spiritual preacher, Resh Moul stood for compassion and purity of soul,” Iqbal Tahir added.

He said Resh Moul Sahib has played a very significant role in the spread of Islam in Kashmir particularly in south Kashmir and has constructed numerous mosques, rest-houses (Sarai for travellers) and ponds.

Iqbal Tahir has extolled the youth to follow Resh Moul’s teachings to develop a new evil free society.

Three persons held with arms and ammunition in separate incidents in north KashmirJehangir Lolabi Srinagar, Jan 7 (GNS): Police on Monday claimed to have arrested three persons in separate places in Handwara area of north Kashmir. A police officer told GNS that two persons Azhar Lone of Handwara, Nazar Mohd Sheikh of Zaloora were arrested during a naka at Kulangam, Handwara near FCI. ” An AK-47 rifle with two magazines, 121 rounds, 3 hand grenades and Indian currency 2400 were recovered from their possession,” the officer said. A case under FIR number 5/2019 under section 7/25 Arms Act has been registered in police station concerned, the officer said. In another separate case, the officer said that SOG Vilgam and a local army unit apprehended a person namely Tariq Ahmad Sheikh son of Abdul Gani Sheikh of Kralpora. “One pistol with one magazine and 9 rounds were recovered from his possession,” he said.
