Police Arrests Husband-Wife Duo For Drug Supply Offences In Anantnag

Police in its recent action against drug dealings in Anantnag has arrested husband and wife for drug supply offences and recovered contraband substance from their possession.

Officers at a checkpoint established near Arwani Crossing arrested husband-wife duo identified as Farooq Ahmad Bhat and his wife Haseena residents of Hyder colony Sopore. Contraband substance Charas has been recovered by the officers from their possession. Both were taken to Police Station Bijbehara where they remain in custody.

Case FIR No. 104/2019 under relevant sections of law has been registered and investigation initiated in the matter.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighborhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.

Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
