Dream of PoK merger into Union of India will come true soon: Amit Shah

Srinagar Dec 18: Union Home Minister Amit Shah while speaking at the event organized by AajTak, claimed Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) is an integral part of India and its merger into Unionof India will come true soon. He said the decision in this regard will be taken at a right time and government doesn’t want to confuse people by putting strategic policies into public domain.

According to news agency, HM Amit Shah while responding to a question over the integration of PoK, said the integration of PoK will indeed happen and stated that the government can’t announce its strategic policies in public domain. He reiterated that the government will decide on the issue at a suitable time in the near future.

“By putting such sensitive and strategic issues into public domain will lead to confusions. The government will decide the future course of action regarding taking back of PoK at an appropriate time. Government will sure sit and decide on it”, Amit Shah said.

Home Minister Amit Shah further stated that Prime Minister NarendraModi also believes that Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK) belongs to India and it should be united with the rest of the country.

Notably, in August this year, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had asserted on the floor of Parliament that Kashmir is an integral part of the country and when he talked about Jammu and Kashmir, he means Jammu and Kashmir in its entirety including parts of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Aksai Chin.

Responding to DayanidhiMaran over his allegation that India is only concerned about the land of PoK and not its people, Amit Shah had again stated that till this date, 24 seats in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly are left vacant for the people of PoK.(JKNS)
