August 5 historic day for people of Kashmir, J&K to be most developed region in the country: Altaf Thakur

‘Leaders trying to raise slogans of demanding back statehood befooling people, citizens wise enough to understand power hungry politicians, Amit Shah has already promised statehood for J&K’

Srinagar, Feb 27: Taking strong note of remarks of a former PDP leader and a minister Syed Altaf Bukhari that August 5 was a “shocker” for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, Bhartiya Janata Party J&K UT spokesman Altaf Thakur said that the reality infact was that August 5 was a historic day and the most happiest day for the people of J&K who were exploited by all the plotical leaders and regional parties since past 70 years.

In a statement issued here, Thakur said that August 5 was undoubtedly a saddest day for the regional parties and their leaders who instead of serving people for the past seven decades filled their own coffers and left common people in the lurch.

Thakur said some people who failed to serve people are now trying to befool people on the pretext of demanding statehood back while as union Home Minister shri Amit Shah has already promised that J&K will be given back the statehood status soon. He said that people cant be exploited anymore in the name of hollow slogans as they have lost faith on all the parties who promoted their family rule and looted state exchequer to build their own assets.

Thakur said that since weather was not suitable for various developmental activities in J&K and now the weather has started improving, J&K will see a massive development at block, tehsil and district levels soon and will soon be counted as the most developed place in the country.

In a veiled refrence to Bukhari, Thakur said that people of Jammu and Kashmir are politically mature and cant be exploited any more on hollow slogans.
