‘Some selfi-lovers posing for selfies with two packets of maggi for poor very unfortunate’
Srinagar, March 29: Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K spokesman Altaf Thakur on Sunday lashed out at those who are making fun of poor in times of Covid-19 by posing along with two packets of maggi for selfies that are later being “sold as a goodwill gesture” on social media.
Thakur urged J&K police to act hard against these self-lovers, who instead of helping the poor and needy in times of pandemic, are deriving sadistic pleasure by clicking dozens of selfis with just two packets of maggi and biscuits.
In a statement issued here, Thakur said that it was painful to see that dozens of fake NGOs, who have nothing to do with the social work and were nowhere in sight so far, have suddenly surfaced on ground and claim to be the saviors of poor and needy.
“These so-called messiah’s of poor, destitute and downtrodden are actually are enjoying their self-lust as they sell same photographs for their own personal benefits.
I wonder, how come they are allowed to distribute few maggi packets and biscuits to a large crowd when assembly of more than four people is strongly prohibited by the government,” Thakur asked.
He urged J&K police act fast and hard against these so called “caretakers” poor and booked them for deriving a pleasure and selling selfis with poor of Kashmir as “if they have moved the mountains.”
Thakur said that when registered NGOs are finding it difficult to operate at a time when Pandemic Covid19 is spreading like a bushfire in Kashmir, how come these “crooks” are allowed to roam around in various parts of Srinagar and elsewhere freely. “I appeal to the police to take stringent action against these fake NGOs, and people who have a great lust for selfis with poor,” he said.
