Srinagar May 03 (KINS): Police in its recent action against drug dealings in Kulgam arrested two drug peddlers and recovered psychotropic substance from their possession.
According to a police statement issued to news agency KINS, officers from PS Yaripora intercepted an individual identified as Mudasir Ahmad Wani resident of Matibugh Yaripora and recovered 29 bottles of Codeine from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to Police Station Yaripora where he remains in custody.
Case FIR No. 50/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered and investigation taken up.
Similarly, Officers from PS Devsar intercepted a person identified as Shahzad Ahmad Padder resident of Malwan and recovered contraband substance from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to Police Station Devsar where he remains in custody.
Case FIR No. 40/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered and investigation into the matter has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
