Drug peddler held in Handwara, charas recovered

Handwara, May 20 : Police in north Kashmir’s Handwara on Wednesday nabbed a peddler and recovered 1 KG charas from his possession.


Police in a statement issued said, Based on reliable information a naka was laid at Batagund Crossing in the jurisdiction of Police Station Qalamabad. During checking / search of a vehicle bearing registration No.DL14CF- 4560 one person namely Amir Ahmad Malik S/o Mohd Mukhtyar Malik R/o Adoora Qalamabad was apprehended and during his personal search 1 Kg Charas and Rs. 46000/- cash was recovered from his possession.


Statement reads, In this connection case FIR No. 50/2020 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered against him in Police Station Qalamabad and investigation taken up.
