Illicit timber seized in Shopian

Srinagar, June 15 (KINS): The Forest department on Monday seized illegal illicit timber in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.


Sources told news agency KINS, that a forest team along with police carried out a raid in Shopian forests and seized a huge quantity of illegal timber.


A forest official also confirmed to news agency KINS about this development and said, after receiving specific information about the timber being smuggled from Shopian Forest Range to Romshi Forest Range, a forest team led by Range Officer Romshi conducted searches and traced smuggled timber including 7 sleepers. He said a formal FIR has been lodged in this regard. (KINS)
