No lockdown from tomorrow in Ganderbal: DC

GANDERBAL : The district administration Ganderbal has decided to let markets open and public movement allowed from tomorrow after the district remained locked down for two consecutive days on Monday and Tuesday.

However, there people will have to strictly follow the Covid-19 SOP and all other health advisories issued favouring the containment of deadly Corona virus.

DC Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal said that no body will be allowed to move without a face mask and social distancing will be mandatory. He said that special checking squads headed by Executive Magistrates/Tehsildars and other executive officers are framed who will monitor all the activities. A person without a face mask would be fined with Rs 500 or more and the shops and other business establishments if found breaching any advisories, may get heavy fines as well as the shops may be locked and sealed.

DC advised people to practice common sense and follow all the advisories, which actually are issued for the public safety and better health. He said corona may not harm anyone if its not given chance by the people themselves.

DC said, things may get worse and lockdown may be re-imposed if people continue to show negligence on their part. That would then be dangerous for the precious human lives as well as for the economy of the district.
