District Srinagar, Pulwama Chess Championships conclude


Srinagar March 12 (KINS): The Srinagar chess championships organized by All JK Chess Association under aegis of J&K Sports Council concluded at TRC Cricket Hut Dalgate.
The organisers in a statement to news agency KINS said about 30 players in the junior category both in boys and girls participated.
In U-5 category, Ahmad Muzzafar Lone secured 1st position, while Moosa Rafiq and Mohammad Salman bagged 2nd and 3rd position, respectively.
In U-7, the first two positions were bagged by Abdul Muiz Qadir and Jalees Ibrahim.
In U-9 category, Bareq Rafiq, Abdur Rakeeb and Asad Aijaz secured first three positions, respectively.
In U-11 category, 1st position was secured by Wajid Gowhar followed by Burooz Ibrahim and Ahmad Gowhar.
Similarly, Abhinan Fotiedar and Raasib Shabnum bagged first two positions in U-13 category.
In U-15 category, Mohammad Ayaan and Taufiq Tariq bagged first two positions.
In U-17 category, first three positions were secured by Aadiv Rath, Syed Aamar and Faizan Shabir, respectively.
Mohammad Ayaan was over all champion in this competition.
Similarly, Pulwama District Chess concluded at Maxwell Public School Pulwama .About 30 players both in  boys  and girls from district Pulwama participated in it. The principal of the Maxwell School was chief guest on the closing function and Bashir Ahmad  Manager Sports Stadium Pulwama J&K Sports Council was guest of honour and distributed prizes and certificates among  the position holders.
