Major infrastructure projects under execution in the district: DC Anantnag

ANANTNAG, JULY 01(KINS): The Deputy Commissioner (DC), Competent Authority Land Acquisition Anantnag, Dr. Piyush Singla today said that major infrastructure projects having significance for physical connectivity and public mobility are under execution in the district.

The DC said this in a meeting of concerned officers convened to review the progress of ongoing work on Vailoo Singpore Tunnel along with approach roads, Donipawa Vailoo and Donipawa Ashajipora stretches of NH-244, Emergency Landing Facility, ATC Tower at Jablipora and Semthan besides sorting out the issues associated with these projects.

Directing the executing agencies to expedite the pace of work on these projects, the DC assured them full support on revenue (encroachments, land acquisition and compensation), utility shifting and other matters.

The DC stressed for prompt settlement of local issues and proper coordination among departments for resolving other issues in time.

He directed the officers of NHIDCL to install reflectors at sharp curves, edges and other vulnerable places besides ensuring standard safety provisions along these roads.

Instructions were passed to ACR, Collector Land Acquisition PWD, to expedite the compensation process on land and structures while Irrigation officers were directed to prepare the estimates for shifting of canals in a time bound manner.

Dr. Singla called for addressing the interests of local people by taking certain public welfare measures under the CSR component.

During the proceedings, threadbare discussions were held on various issues related with the completion of these projects.

The meeting was informed that work is under progress on Vailoo to Donipawa segment of NH-244 while as land acquisition is underway for the approach road of Vailoo Tunnel. It was further given out that more than sixty (60) percent work has been completed on Jablipora Emergency Landing besides Qazigund Banihal, Navyug Tunnel will be opened in near future.

The meeting was also attended by ADC (G), SDMs Bijbehara and Kokernag, DFO SF Division Anantnag, Ex. Engineer PHE, DGM NHIDCL, Tehsildars Bijbehara, Anantnag and Kokernag, officials of NHAI, Irrigation, Horticulture, and other concerned. (KINS)

 

Enumeration survey of Migratory tribal population launched at Kulgam

KULGAM, JULY 01(KINS): The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat on Wednesday formally launched the enumeration survey of Migratory tribal Population during a training programme of Enumerators/ Supervisors organized here at DIET Complex Kulgam.

During the training programme these Enumerators/ Supervisors were imparted training requisite to complete the enumeration survey process smoothly.

On the occasion, the DDC highlighted the significance of this overall enumeration survey process of Migratory tribal population and impressed upon all the officers/officials for completion of the task in a set timeline with collection of accurate databases.

District Statistical and Evaluation Officer Kulgam imparted necessary training to the Supervisors/ Enumerators for successful conduct of the survey.

Among others who were present on the occasion were Additional Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Chief Planning Officer Kulgam and other officers. (KINS)
