Srinagar, Dec 16: The Vajr Division of the Indian Army organized an Ex-Servicemen (ESM) rally at Kupwara Zangli Garriso to honor veterans.
According to Army statement, Over 300 ex-servicemen, Veer Naris, War Widows, and their dependents from Kupwara District participated in this tribute, focusing on connecting with veterans and addressing their needs. Major General Girish Kalia, VSM General Officer Commanding Vajr Division, interacted personally with attendees, emphasizing the Army’s commitment to their well-being, healthcare, and effective problem-solving.
The event featured facilitation stalls offering services such as pension assistance, documentation, banking, medical benefits, and Aadhar cards. Various agencies, including Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme, helpline, and leading banks, participated, providing a platform for direct engagement between veterans, civil authorities, and the military to resolve issues. The rally highlighted the Indian Army’s dedication to recognizing and honoring its veterans, fallen heroes, and their families. The event concluded with gratitude, assuring attendees of the nation’s perpetual indebtedness to their contributions.
