Srinagar, Dec 22: In a resolute crackdown against drug peddling, law enforcement authorities have taken decisive action by booking Shoib Aijaz Guru, a highly sought-after and notorious drug smuggler, under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT NDPS) Act in Baramulla.
Shoib Aijaz Guru, also known as Shoib, the son of Aijaz Ahmad Guru and a resident of Milat Colony Kanispora Baramulla, has been subjected to legal proceedings under the PIT-NDPS Act, following the acquisition of formal detention orders from the competent authority. The apprehended drug smuggler has been subsequently confined to Central Jail Kot-balwal in Jammu.
Notably, Shoib Aijaz Guru has a history of involvement in numerous cases related to drug smuggling and has been implicated in fueling the drug trade by providing narcotics to the local youth in Town Baramulla and other areas within the district. Despite facing multiple FIRs, he persisted in his illicit activities, continuing to contribute to the proliferation of drug abuse in the community.
The commendable actions of the Police in addressing the issue of drug peddling have garnered praise from community members. The consistent efforts of the Jammu and Kashmir Police in combating drug peddlers serve as a reassurance to the community, reflecting the dedicated commitment to maintaining a drug-free society.
